Lakeridge Region Precamp

For their precamp before the 1997 Scouts Canada Jamboree, Scouters of Lakeridge Region (the former Scout region just east of Toronto) did their best to duplicate the conditions in Thunder Bay, so that the Scouts would be prepared for the coming jamboree.

The 8th Whitby's campsite, complete with a spectacular entrance banner at the precamp.
A handmade cart with bicycle wheels makes it easy to carry lots of stuff in and out easily.
2nd Brooklin threw some light on their campsite with this wonderful pioneering project. This tall lantern stand was based on one of John Sweet's designs.

Karaoke on this setup was a popular activity for many Scouts and leaders on the Saturday night of the pre-camp.
A line of pots and dishes shows just one of the many uses for a rope.
This Scout staff is colour-coded for each of Canada's Scouting sections from Beavers at the top to Rovers at the bottom. Carved into it are the mottos of each section: Sharing, Do Your Best, Be Prepared, Challenge, and Service.
